How do I know what my card is worth?
You do not have to know. Send us photos of the front and back: we estimate the value in its current condition, free of charge, and the tier follows from that. If you already have a figure of your own, we use it as a reference and talk it through with you.
Is the estimate I see here final?
It is a serious estimate, but the confirmation comes when the card is on our bench: photos always hide something. If anything changes after the diagnosis in person, we tell you before we start — and if it does not convince you, we send the cards back with nothing owed for the work.
Why does the price depend on the value of the card?
Because the risk changes and so does the method. On a €2,000 card we work more slowly, with more checks and dedicated materials: the time it takes is not the same as for a common card, even when the flaw looks identical.
Can I ask for restoration only, without cleaning?
Of course, and it exists as a treatment on its own. The only exception is technical: if the restoration needs a wet stage, the card has to be cleaned as well — that is not a commercial choice, it is how the material behaves. In that case we move to the complete treatment, €5 more, and we tell you first.
Do you treat whitening on the edges?
No, by choice. We know how, but putting pigment on the edges makes the card indistinguishable from an untouched one to whoever buys it after you. We restore, we do not disguise.
Can restored cards be graded?
Yes, and we handle it for you. In fairness it has to be said that the graders (PSA, BGS, CGC) may class a cleaned or restored card as «altered»: it is a real possibility, and we talk about it before going ahead, so that you choose knowing everything.
BGS or CGC?
It depends on the card, and the difference is not the quality of the house. BGS is the reference choice when the card is clean and you want the four subgrades — and if you are in a hurry, it is the only one of the two that sells speed. CGC is the choice when the card has a production quirk — a miscut, a printing error, a misalignment — because it certifies it as such instead of treating it as nothing but a flaw. We look at your card and tell you which makes more sense: the decision stays yours.
How long does it take?
It depends on the work and on the queue in the workshop: usually two or three weeks for a standard treatment. For grading, add the timescale of the house you choose, which you will find above. We update you at every important step, without you having to chase us.
How are the cards packed for the return?
Three-layer packing and shipping insured up to €250 as standard. If the contents are worth more, or you would simply sleep better, with the GPS option we put an AirTag in the parcel — and the AirTag is yours to keep.
